DSFC refers to two of my favourite composers: Domenico Scarlatti and François Couperin. The piece is in part an humble homage to their idiosyncratic keyboard writing. Drawing on some of the most characteristic compositional elements of their music, I tried to create a fertile terrain for subtle unforseen tactile nuances. The word ‘unison’ in the second half of the title alludes to the act of performing together. Playing in unison is in most cases a device to reinforce and to underline. Unison is instead here approached as a more unstable entity, and as an opportunity to trigger desynchronisation. The result is a subtle contingent form of counterpoint.
